It its first year, the Our Planet project reached hundreds of millions of people around the world, through the series as well as digital content, media, education projects and partnerships. The series, which truly had a global audience won critical acclaim and prompted discussions at the highest levels about how to protect our planet for the next generation. Research by WWF also showed viewers of the series reported increased awareness, concern and knowledge about environmental issues.
We're excited to publish Our Planet: Our Impact, a new report from WWF and tve (television for the environment) about the Our Planet project. The first series of it's kind built around an explicit environmental message, Our Planet was broadcast globally on Netflix and supported by a wider campaign led by WWF. Researched and written by former Executive Director of tve (television for the environment) Nicole Itano, the report explores what made the project unique, how the impact of the series was measured and what we can learn from it.
